Sacral Neuromodulation

The sacral neuromodulator device provides continuous stimulation of the electrodes placed on the anterior surface of the sacral nerve root. The device is placed in a process that takes about 30 minutes. After the first placement, the testing phase begins. During the test phase, which lasts about 2 weeks, the device is tested in different modes. If more than 50% improvement in symptoms is achieved, the application is considered successful. The permanent battery, which is set in the mode with the most successful in the patient, is placed on the patient. It is very useful in rescuing patients who are unable to urinate and have spinal cord damage, such as neurogenic bladder.

Neurosacral Modulation Indications

Urethral Catheter-Free Life with Sacral Neuromodulation

Neurogenic bladder patients are unable to urinate because the bladder has lost its function. These patients continue their lives either by inserting a catheter intermittently or by being constantly catheterized. Sacral neuromodulation device has revealed hope in these patients. Patients who have to stay with the catheter for many years can naturally empty their urine after sacral neuromodulation.
